March Overview

The text in the top photograph is an excerpt from one of the most beautiful Stations of the Cross books that I have ever read! It is written by Clarence Enzler and is this month's "Freebie of the Month". It is called Everyone's Way of the Cross. It is in an unusual format where Jesus "speaks" and you "reply" at each station. The Introduction is equally as beautiful. Here it is:

"Christ Speaks

These fourteen steps that you are now about to walk you do not take alone. I walk with you. Though you are you, and I am I, yet we are truly one - one Christ. And therefore my way of the cross two thousand years ago and your "way" now are also one. But note this difference. My life was incomplete until I crowned it by my death. Your fourteen steps will only be complete when you have crowned them by your life."

The Private Revelation Message from Jesus, through "Anne", is a particularly beautiful explanation on LOVE from His point of view. It is especially relevant as we approach the events of Holy Week which were and are the ultimate expression of His love.

Do not forget that Divine Mercy Sunday is the week after Easter! This is a very special feast, that until recently I did not appreciate. If you want to know more, click here. http://www.ewtn.com/devotionals/mercy/feast.htm

Have a blessed, Holy Week!

Medjugorje Message
February 25, 2007

"Dear children!
In this time of grace, I call you anew to prayer and renunciation. May your day be interwoven with little ardent prayers for all those who have not come to know God's love. Thank you for having responded to my call."

“ANNE” – DIRECTION FOR OUR TIMES
March 1, 2008

Jesus: My dear friend, you will learn so much about love in heaven. You will look back at your time on earth and you will understand that many things that occurred to you were both exercises in love and opportunities to love. There is misunderstanding about love in the world but those who follow Me, My beloved apostles, seek to master love as I mastered love, in sacrifice. It is true that love creates joy. This is true. But when we take on love, it is also at times like taking on a burden which must then be carried. We should not decide for love and then, finding that love burdensome at times, set it down and walk away from it. This is not how it is done. On the contrary, if you love as I loved, you will find at times that the weight of love is heavy. I experienced this on Calvary when I carried My love for you to My death. Did I make the right decision, to pay the ultimate price for love? Of course I did. What else would I do, given the wonderful creation that is you? In the same way, I want each of My apostles to expect their love for Me to be a burden to them at times. This is normal. I want each of My apostles to expect their love for others to be a burden to them at times. This is also normal. In love, there are times when the decision to love feels light, of course, and there seems to be no burden to it at all. Rejoice in these times. In love, there are other times when the burden causes you to question your commitment. Do not be afraid of these times.
This questioning is necessary for your growth. I experienced this, too. I was tempted toward an easier way. When love is tried this way and triumphs, that love becomes firmer and less likely to be disappointed later. Welcome the challenges to love, even while you decide for love. I will be with you in each situation, counselling you to humility and gentleness. View each challenge as a worthy exercise, allowed by heaven to teach you about eternity. See the opportunities to love all of those around you, particularly those whom you find it difficult to agree with at times. Please do not be alarmed when you are disappointed in love, when others fail you. This was also My experience and this will also benefit you because it will help you to learn forgiveness. I will bring you to greater holiness with each experience if you remember that I am with you and that I love you perfectly and completely. From the secure place that is My heart, you will go forward with self assurance, confident that you are cherished. This confidence will express itself in an increased ability to love those around you. Be at peace, dear apostles. My plan is such that you will learn to live like residents of heaven. All is well.

ANN P. – MESSAGES OF THE SACRED HEART TO A CONVERTING SOUL (Friend of Alex)
February 18, 2008

Psalm 84, Psalm 22: 22-31

Mother Mary:  My dear children. Return to God before it is too late.  He waits for your return.   Do not continue to play with fire, return now.  I cannot hold His mighty hand back much longer for all those that offend Him.  His creatures have made His creation a playground of Hell, where the value of life ceases to exist and immorality has taken over.  Money has become the root of all evil.  People worship money.  They strive for happiness, living way beyond their means, instead of helping those that are suffering of starvation and disasters of every kind.  God has placed the poor and suffering among you for the purpose of obtaining holiness by acts of kindness and generosity to them.  But they turn their back on these suffering souls and continue to strive for wealth.  Uncharitable acts will never go unnoticed by God, who sees all and will repay all according to their good deeds done on earth.  Take heed of the warnings that are taking place all around you, for no one will escape them.  Time is short.  Come with open arms to one Who loves you and will forgive you no matter what you have done, your loving Mother.

Jesus:  My child.  As you forgive others, I will also forgive you.  This I have taught you, never hold a grudge against your neighbor.  I cannot pardon all the wrongs that you have done if you have an unforgiving heart, a heart that is full of hatred for your brother.  When you struggle within yourself and cannot let go to this resentment that you have towards your neighbor, ask for My grace to cleans you and wipe out all resentment, that you may live in peace and harmony.  This I ask of you.  Your loving Jesus.

The Power of Love:

Several years ago, a woman found a sick, malnourished lion cub in the jungle.  She took the cub home and fed him and brought him up until he was too big to keep anymore.  Then she made arrangements with a zoo in Colombia to take the lion.  Here's a video of what happened when she went to visit him in the zoo for the first time. It is absolutely unbelievable! Click here to view this video.

Triduum, A Sense of the Season

The word Triduum comes from the Latin and means "three days." It is commonly pronounced "TRIH-doo-uhm" and is usually used in reference to the Easter Triduum, the three most sacred days in the church year. The Easter Triduum begins with the evening Mass of the Lord's Supper on Holy Thursday, reaches its high point at the Easter Vigil and concludes with evening prayer on Easter Sunday. Often there is confusion about how that block of time can be counted as three days. The traditional Jewish practice of counting days from sunset to sunset is used during the Triduum. Thus, Holy Thursday evening to Good Friday evening is the first day, Good Friday evening to Holy Saturday evening is the second day and Holy Saturday evening to Sunday evening is the third day. After centuries of neglect, Pope Pius XII in 1955 restored the Triduum liturgies to their rightful place as the culmination of the liturgical year.

Although we talk of the three days, our Triduum prayer is best understood as one liturgy in three interlocking movements. The death and resurrection of the Lord cannot be separated. The meaning of these days is distorted when we imagine that the liturgy re-enacts the final events in the life of Jesus in a sort of historical review. We miss the point in that case. The mystery of Jesus' death and resurrection is a present reality; the boundaries of time, and the boundaries of death, have no power here.

Our past, present and future are irrevocably marked by our own immersion into this mystery through baptism. We wash one another's feet, reverence the cross, light fires in the night and proclaim the stories of our salvation with an awed awareness that this is what it means to be baptized. The Easter Vigil then is the premier time to welcome new members into the church through baptism, confirmation and Eucharist.
